Multi span events, analytics updates, rota, weather closures, and AI chatbox

We've been responding to a lot of customer requests in the fast few weeks. As always it's super helpful if you let us know any feedback on the below, or anything you'd like us to work on next.

Events can span multiple dates and times: Your events can now span different dates as one bookable entity. For example you could do an 8 week course for pottery painting every Saturday, or every other week etc!

Analytics Page Refreshed & More Data: We've added a lot more data to the analytics page, including future predictions based on an in house machine learning engine. You'll also be able to see better comparisons on time periods before.

Weather Based Area Closures: You can now close certain areas based on the predicted weather for your venue, down to the hourly resolution. If it's going to be for sure raining on the Saturday then preemptively close the outdoor area so you don't have to deal with annoyed customers!

Rota Payroll Data: We've made it even easier to export your rota data in a format that is accountant friendly; no need to keep separate reports - simply select the month, get the hours worked and even the amount due if you've input the salary figures!)

AI Chatbot: We've been giving the AI chat bot more tools so it can really dive into understanding your venue, your configuration and your sessions. The AI chat bot can make changes across the system and often it's the quickest way to make changes. We're constantly adding more tools and knowledge vectors for it to use so do give it a try! The AI Chatbot is not designed to replace human support but we think it can help on some of the more common queries in a way which is faster for you. We've built out the system so that it isn't just 'chatting' but actually helping and making changes.

Note, some accounts will have this and other AI features disabled based on enterprise contracts and or previously stated preferences.

We go into all of these more on the blog so you might to check that out!

Fixes & Small Changes

We've made hundreds of other smaller fixes in the past week but some of the more worth mentioning ones are:

  • NEW You can now sign in with a magic link sent to your email rather than your password.
  • NEW You can now add your own custom CSS to the booking form, and include external fonts from Adobe Typekit / Bunny.net and Google Fonts.
  • FIXD When adding a booking in the admin panel with yield disabled, it would still warn about no suitable table.
  • FIXD Session venue exclusive events could overlap if the session is exclusive with another exclusive.
  • FIXD Some confirmation emails could send with an incorrect manage booking link (these have been resent)
  • FIXD With multiple depth opening time schedules, the highest priority was used rather than the smallest window (single day in a wider schedule)
  • FIXD Refunding a booking on the booking card now reflects instantly it's been refunded.

Automated Test Suite

BookingNinja has an incredible amount of different features and configuration options so we've been building out automated tests that cover now over 2500 different cases and 'assertions'. Any deployment to the live system has to first pass a manual check and now has to pass these automated tests. This should help improve general stability (though comparatively we know we're doing okay on that!) and also help us spot any logical gaps quickly.
